Picked these two up recently.
They look to be ...

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces47245.html
date 1609, weight 22.8g dia' approx 40mm

and ...

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces47247.html
date 1605, weight 14.4g dia' approx 35mm

so the question is, have I been very lucky and found something good and genuine or are they fakes.
Any opinions appreciated and I know it is difficult to be precise from just pictures but if obviously fakes then I am sure someone can tell me. They are not magnetic.
Cheers
Brian.

Based on what I can see on the pictures this is not your lucky day. Just for the heck of it press the rim on a piece of white paper and see if you can draw a line with it.

There are some pretty big differences in the 1609 Thaler between your photo and the coin on Numista but then I'm not collecting early coins (yet) so am not sure how much variation occurs in early coins from this period and place. Will be interested to see the other responses to learn a bit more about early coins.

Thanks for replies.
Answer to drawing a line is YES, both leave a line on paper so is that good or bad ?
Cheers

I do not know these types, but a quick search shows that the thaler is not correct. The weight is off by more than 20%, the details are off ...

The second coin should be a half thaler based on size and weight (and not the thaler you have linked), and looks better at first glance.

You can use coinarchives.com, or acsearch to check these.

Both are definitely fakes - details, plachets and colour are all wrong.

Definitely fake, possibly not even made of silver.
