daviscfad Pillar of the Community United States 4541 Posts	Posted 03/08/2009 11:44 pm I was looking at some purchase receipts on some things I had and gold has sure jumped in the last couple of years. I bought a 1996 1/10 ounce gold proof for 78 bucks 2 years ago. now I see they are selling for 150. I wish I had bought more I also remember before I knew a lot about coins a guy @ the swap shop in South Florida selling rolls of walkers for 60 bucks a roll. Things have really gone up since then. Do you guys think that junk silver is selling as high as it is b.c of the economy? I mean people are swallowing it up but a couple of years ago you could buy it all day long at cheaper prices Report this Post to the Staff

Way, way back in the late 60's and early 70's I decided to start purchasing Gold Charms for a young lady. One for each special occation. They were expensive at the time but I thought it was an investment. Gold at the time was $35/ounce. We married and when our son was born in the early 70's, the charm for that was way over $100 and only had one ounce of Gold in it.
