Would it be a good idea to send the 1959 penny I posted to be graded? I don't want to spend more $ to have it graded than it is worth in reality. It really is quite nice for a 1959 penny that was in circulation, graded or not&  . Just an fyi...I have a large number of coins I've tossed into an old water cooler jug over the last few years, a piggy bank of sorts. I've put aside the pennies for now, and I'm onto the dimes just to "change" things up for a bit.&  So please expect more questions from me. I sincerely appreciate your help. Thank you!  |

Given the images posted, the coin could fall between mid-AU to low MS. In my opinion, not a great candidate for submitting for grading. Could be a good hole filler until something better comes along.

Frankie , don't fret . You just need some experience in the hobby . We've all been where you are now .Best thing when I started was reading books on coins ,going to coin shows if they are near you, start buying a few coins that interest you . Forget about submitting circulated coins from your water bottle ,that will never be beneficial to you unless you find a rare error .  |

To get a rough idea as to value. -prices, check ebay's SOLD listings. You'll find similar coins both graded and ungraded for a ballpark range of their worth.  |
