dbrablec Pillar of the Community United States 1944 Posts	Posted 03/19/2009 8:16 pm posted are two scans, of a 1995P Lincoln. when I first looked at it I thought there was a post mint damage, gouge between the I and B in liberty. after looking at it under magnification, it is actually extra metal between the letters. I know a " Cud" occurs near the edge or rim. what do I have on this one. I am still in a sharp learning curve here. opinions are appreciated. thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

Metalman Pillar of the Community United States 7123 Posts	Posted 03/20/2009 10:48 pm Jazz is correct , die chips along with a sundry list of other types of anomolies are considered a normal part of die wear in the minting process and as such they are not errors nor do they carry a premium, they are however interesting and its up to each individual collector if they want to keep them or not , just be sure to clearly mark the holder what it is and that there is no added value and the coin was kept for interest and a learning tool only .
