Gold Colored SBA 1979 And 1999

I've come across two of these SBAs gold colored. It is obvious a coating as the 1979 is showing wear on the rim and Susan's cheeks. Any one have any information about them? I can't find anything about them, although I might not be looking in the right places. In the photo the 1979 is pictured to the right next to a "normal" SBA for comparison

More than likely gold plated for some reason but definitely a post-mint alteration

I agree, these modern coins are often Gold-plated and sold on the TV sales channels and as novelties. ~ Jim

I've also seen SBAs colored red or blue... for identification purposes so they won't get confused for a quarter.

Please tell me, is the yellow color plated on or lacquered (like tree-sapped) on?

Thanks for the replies!! Plated or Lacquered? I don't think I am educated enough to know the difference. I will try to take new photos with different lighting/perspective tomorrow or next.
