The inner serif is still there, the outer, probably polished away. Another way to check is the vertical, the 88 is even with the outside and yours is to the east, like a 89 should be. Keep looking, it takes folks like you to find new transitional varieties, somebody just like you, found the 88. Be vigilant but know your stuff.
