1986 D Penny, Is This Some Kind Of Error? Looks Like Brush Trace

Across the center of the coin, there's trace like been brushed during the die process. not quite sure if this consider as some sort of error? And what is this condition called? It also appears that the lettering IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY and the year and mint mark are all off centered or is it the way the photo is or it's late and I need to go to bed lolo. ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19288 Posts	Posted 03/18/2023 07:47 am I'm thinking a plating issue--likely zinc dust on the planchet, which as contributed to spawning some plating bubbles. Swath is a good description. Looks like early split plating on the mint mark. What does the reverse look like? Report this Post to the Staff

Most times if it is zinc dust it would be a hard blister,if something like a liquid gets trapped it would be a bubble you could press down.No added value but kinda neat,keep if you like.
