2019 P Shield Cent Rim Marks - Coin Community Forum

allcoinsaregood Pillar of the Community United States 808 Posts	Posted 04/13/2023 3:17 pm Ladies and Gents, I am way out of my league on this post! I've found a 2019 P Shield Cent with some strange marks on the edge of the rim of this coin. After looking at thousands of cents I don't remember seeing anything like it, and I think it might be a Die Clash. Bold of me to make A statement like this but it doesn't look like a impact hit. There are some parallel lines just below the marks, so it might be a coin clash after the minting process but I am unsure. I know the experts on the Coin Community can possibly see what could cause this particular marking which follows the rim of the coin from the bust of Lincoln to the L in Liberty. Coin to coin transfers will be mirrored incuse damage to a coin.
