I came across this in a bulk lot, and have a couple of questions. Is there a market for what looks like it might be a full roll of 1985 BU nickels? And am I correct in my supposition that this is what it is? I'm unfamiliar with the types of rolls (we don't get them here) - I don't want to be offering this up as that if indeed its a mix of dates in there. Other ender has the correct obverse for an 85' BU coin. I guess the interest here in the UK will be minimal, cost of shipping to Canada would be prohibitive and i'll end up just getting the face value exchange value out of them. Having looked up coinsandcanada, I can see there are no major varieties, but an MS64 books at $14 so thought it worth a post on here before I get rid for f/v

The Mint did not roll coins in 1985. No telling what's in your roll. Brandt is a manufacturer of coin rolling machines, your roll could have been wrapped at any time by anyone with access to such equipment. Coins and Canada prices are based on sales of certified coins, so first you'd have to spend $40 to get your $14. On ebay these can be had for a buck or two uncertified.

That looks like a roll of circulated nickels. The only way of knowing what you have is to open them. The other end could be anywhere from 1965-1989.

Might as well open it and see if there are any gems. There is no point in certifying an MS64 though as DBM says.

I opened it up and they were indeed all mint state lustrous 1985's. (just for the curious amongst you!)

These don't exactly fly off the shelves in our local coin stores. Most modern Canadian coins are tough to sell at the "book" value. How popular are UK 5 pence coins in Mint State?
