Inscription On Edge Of Presidential $1 Coin Is Upside Down

I got paid in some Presidential dollar coins recently, and I was examining them because I'd never seen one before when I noticed the inscription on the edge of one of them is upside down. I'm not a coin collector myself and I don't know anything about the hobby, so I wanted to ask the experts if it's worth anything. Thank you for your time. Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16883 Posts	Posted 06/16/2026 11:26 pm It should, as usual, be pointed out once again that the circulating examples of these coins are indeed a 50:50 chance, whether the coin lands heads or tails in the edge-inscribing machine. But for proof coins, the edge lettering is part of the collar die, not a separate process, so proof versions of these coins should all be "the same way up".
