After years of rummaging through the numismatic collections of the British Museum, historians have finally uncovered the model for Bert Lahr's portrayal of the Cowardly Lion in the 1939 classic film, "The Wizard of Oz."

Coincidence?--I-Think-Not.


Extra credit for all who can identify the particular coin on which this lion appears.
