Had this come up in my emails. This coin has horrible eye appeal but is still running up the bids. I know very little about grading but just don't see it....

Great collections link. https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/2194391/

Holy bananas! Crossing into seven figures.... I could see MS65--not a terribly strong one, but 65 none the less.

It does look like a MS65 - a bit of chatter on the cheek but nothing else is too obvious under the toning. Plus it has a pedigree label and CAC sticker - has everything going for it.

well, according to the info on that auction, this is the 2nd-finest known example, the 1st sold for over $2M. so, $1.03M now, with 2+ hrs left when I clicked into it... who here thinks this coin could or will top the $2M mark? tune in later to see what it sold for. 12 bidders so far.

A pic of the auction coin for posterity. $1,050,000 with an hour to go.
