I have long enjoyed the Whitman Classic line of coin albums. However, upon acquiring #9111: Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, I noticed that an unfathomably asinine decision ruined what has otherwise been a wonderful way to house my coins. Inexplicably, the decisionmakers at Whitman Publishing came to the conclusion that this album should include a slot for the 1856 Flying Eagle cent, an issue which is not only not part of the regular series, being unauthorized by Congress, but also so prohibitively expensive that anybody who is fortunate enough to acquire it would almost certainly eschew putting it in an ordinary album. For the time being, I have plugged the hole with a custom-made "PATTERN ONLY" cardboard cutout, but I was wondering if anybody else has come up with a better solution to this completely unnecessary conundrum.
