Anyone in here who could help confirm this is a genuine 1988 double clipped planchet, DDO / DDR, off-center strike, spiked head obverse die crack Lincoln Penny. And what it might be valued at. Appreciate any and all help. Hope I did this correctly.

Excellent double clip! Blakesley effect is strong opposite both locations.

It does appear to be a Spike head, though I'm not seeing an off-center strike, very mild if so.

I don't see any obvious doubling of the ear, so would need closeups of the date to really check. There aren't any 1988 DDR's, I believe. If you're referring to the designer's initials "FG", that spot looks like DDD to me.

Too bad it circulated so long! I can't guess on value given the condition.

Very cool double clip Spike head

To CCF! Excellent find! It's a genuine Clipped Planchet. Blakesley Effect is there too, so that confirms it. As far as value goes, not a whole lot, since it has circulated for so long. Probably worth a few dollars at most, given the condition it's in.

Hey mintednotprinted, appreciate your response. I could very well be wrong, fairly new to collecting. The ear doubling is faint and I apologize these pics are not the best. I snapped a pic of the initials to show unfortunately this wasnt a rdv-006 .

Hi Errers and Varietys, appreciate your response. I was afraid that might be the case since it isn't in the best of shape, but you never know. Ive seen some trash coins selling for thousands. Didn't think this would be one of them but its good to have some of these errors confirmed by more experienced eyes.

Me too. On ebay, you'll see tons of coins that are damaged and are not errors from either ignorant sellers or from scammers. You can get genuine error coins on ebay. You just have to be careful and weed through the junk listings and know about how the minting process works. Once you know how the minting process works, you can spot genuine error coins apart from just damaged coins. I'm glad to help. Anytime.

I hope you'll continue to post more coins on CCF. I really enjoyed this coin. It's pretty cool how it circulated for so long before being noticed and pulled from circulation.
