Hi everybody, I've done some research on this 1983 Philadelphia quarter and I first went to variety Vista they had nothing on an 1983 Philadelphia. So I Google it and came up with the pictures that I'm posting with the coin. On the obverse, look at in God we trust and is the reason why the I i and n are almost touching is because of a die chip? Look at the photo that I'm going to post and would you let me know if it looks like the same thing that I got. It's got some of the characteristics as far as doubling like I see little half circles behind some of the letters and I'm pretty sure that is a die chip between the I and n. If you look close enough, it looks what appears to be a round blob which could be the die chip. Also the mint mark p is filled in, and look at the tops of Liberty. If you have a doubled die wouldn't you be able to see the whole letter or number in an outline? On the reverse look at the word quarter is that Machine Doubling? Sure looks like the same thing I got
I also read that these aren't recognized as errors. Thanks people you guys rock.
