AU details cleaned. Still showing frost in the eagles wings but no luster.

there is hallowing and embedded crud around most of the devices indicating a light cleaning. I think it was enough to remove most, if not all, of the original luster. its borderline, but I think it would most like likely receive a details designation.

as you are well aware, photos can be deceptive. there are some marks in front of the neck and the jaw that may be more noticeable in hand. I dont believe it was harshly cleaned. I think someone just tried to clean it up a little too much

Thanks for the feedback, all. I was thinking it was lightly cleaned as well, but thought I'd post and see what all of you thougjt.

Cleaned or not, this may be a Top 100 VAM. It could be an overdate, and may possibly be 1880-CC VAM-5. Depending on the asking price, it may be worth checking out the VAM before passing on the coin.

From the photos, touched up with soap and water at worst. It should straight grade au53.

VAM-5 has a small CC, so not that one. It looks like a VAM-9, and I can see some of the markers.

Here are a couple more photos of the seller's images. The area around the I in AMERICA has been recently been mess with. The example has low eye appeal and there are lots of 1880 CC to choose from in the AU and low MS grades. I agree pass.

Yep. With this just being a VAM-9 and with the new photos, I agree that it should be a pass.
