I'm Now Getting Examined For Possible Prostate Cancer - Update - My Test Came Back Positive

Lots of prostate positive cases survive for more than 10 years plus,
and die with the cancer, not because of it.

My thoughts are with you and stay the course! Having been there and doing that with very similar circumstances as yours.

Had a PSA of 15.9, biopsy results same as you Gleason 3-3-6 ,catheter installed from Feb to surgery on June 15th of this year to open prostate channel and allow urethra to be unimpeded. There were 12 core samples taken in the biopsy and 2 were positive, similar to your results, luckily the slow moving and appear to have not spread.

Had to have the surgery, to get rid of the catheter, but I coped those 4 months. As you are now, I am now on surveillance. Just had my 3 month, PSA 1.7, and will get the MRI scan another 6 months, and another surgical biopsy and go from there.

There are always people worse off than us and I keep that in mind every day.

I initially had a PSA of 7.4, but at the time I was fighting off a urinary tract infection AND an blood Bacterial infection. which prompted my medical care team to order an MRI on the prostrate. Had 2 of them 1 month apart both showing spots on my prostrate - which in turn got me to a biopsy they did 14 samples for me, but just before the biopsy, another blood test that showed my PSA was at 0.7.

Luckily I didn't get a catheter installed - the med team tole me that if I couldn't urinate normally, that I would get one - so I tried real hard to make sure everything was in 'working order'. So yes, now a watch and wait to see how things progress.
