The Finest of All 1792 Half Dismes to be sold on Thursday this week on 10/8/26. This was one of the 4 specimens owned by David Rittenhouse, the first Director of the U.S. Mint. It was last sold in 2018 for $1,985,000 in a private sale.

The word "rare" is tossed around loosely. This coin, in this grade, with this provenance is a rare coin. What an incredible coin with an amazing history.
