I've spent all morning trying to get a decent shot of the obverse. Especially on the date. I'm sure it's just wishful thinking but does the 8 appear to be fatter to the right, slightly doubled?

Pictures aren't the best, but my guess is Die Deterioration Doubling. The big DDO for that year would be very obvious to the naked eye. https://doubleddie.com//wheat-cent-...d-dies-1958/

try placing the coin on a cloth covered table - it may help you get better focus with out the phone and hand moving around.

Bu8t from what I can see - the 8 looks 'smeared' from Die Deterioration.
