I've previously posted a pair of local advertisements for the 1936 York County Tercentenary Half Dollar that announced the coin's availability at local banks. You can check it out here:

- 1936 York County, Maine Tercentenary - Local Advertising

This time out, I'm presenting an advertisement for mail orders along with one that touts the overall York County celebration as the star attraction and includes the coin in a supporting role.

We can often find something of a quirky fun nature in these old advertisements.

For the second advertisement describing the virtues of York County ME I'm going with "Dustless Roads running everywhere throughout it."

Makes me wonder if macadam paving was a relatively new technology in 1936?

Thanks for sharing these.
