Happy Halloween! How fitting that I would find this ghost orb tonight! As described on error-ref: Quote: This clearly defined, tiny die ring is surrounded by additional faint, closely-spaced concentric rings. This is one of many recent reverse nickel dies with rings in Monticello's doorway. Many rings occur in isolation and most are identical in size to this one. Positions vary slightly but it seems all of them are slightly to the left of center. Dates range from 2012-P to 2015-P. [2014-P in photo] https://www.error-ref.com/?s=circle...n%20photo%5D

Very cool and fitting subject, snailking1! I have quite a few of these on 2014 Jefferson nickels that I have found CRH years ago. They were pulled from BU OBW rolls I bought off of ebay at the time. Would you like one for free of charge? PM me if you do want one. Edit: Great find!

Definitely a neat little UFO.
When I first read about these, I wondered if a drop of something acidic fell on the die. That could make concentric circles as it dried and damaged the polished metal surface.
