Hello all, Would someone be kind enough to give me an approximate value on a 1923 $1 Silver Certificate that appears to be in F-VF condition (no holes or tears, good even margins & intact corners, but 2 vertical folds and a little bit of wrinkling on the top margin)? It is from the ZD block. Sorry, can't post a pic because the scanner decided to go south on me today Thanks!
The block does not matter in the least...... what does matter is the signature combination and how many digits in the serial number..... if there are less than five digits in the serial number (Z1234D) there would be a premium, if the signatures are Woods/Tate, there is a premium...... In general, the 1923 Silver Certificates are by far the most common of all large size notes, and the condition of F-VF might indicate a value of around $20-$40..... Suggest you look on ebay (completed listings) to find one that closely resembles yours as to condition.
Thank you zeewool, I appreciate the info .... I have only been collecting small-size notes to date, and know next-to-nothing about the large-size. Is there a guide that specializes in the pre-1928 notes that you would recommend? Thanks again.
