Fair Price : British India 1940 1/4 Anna Hoard

Indian coins were eventually approximated to British sizes and by the mid 20th C. these 1/4 annas were fairly much equivalent to halfpennies, being about 1" in diameter.
As a fraction of a rupee they were 1/64; not the same but similar to a halfpenny being 1/48 of a florin.

Like most mid 20th C. halfpennies from South Africa, Australia, Britain these 1/4 annas can also be obtained for about $1 each.

I had an Uncle who hoarded S. African halfpennies from the 1950's and all of these years later they are worth about the price of copper.
If only he had hoarded silver instead.
