1983 Lincoln - Double Strike 3 ?

As you can see, there seems to be a clear partial 3 below the primary 3 in the date. When I magnified the scan, it seems to me the secondary three starts within the primary 3.

Looks more like it took a hit. Most likely PMD.

Not a 3 or a gouge. It's a heavy mark from another coin. It's damage.

+1 on the hit....it was hit post mint....its a damaged coin

If you think about it...if it was a "double strike" the point in question would be raised. Although it looks similar to the curve of the "3"...the coin just took a hit...
