Post-mint damage - both the fields and rims show displaced metal.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I don't think so.
Yes, the edge did take a small hit there, but not enough to do that.
If these were incuse, I'd agree, but, they are raised.

can you get an image with the lighting off to one side to create a shadow on the anomalies and part of the coins design too?
