I have the opportunity to buy this coin and don't know how much to offer. With my limited knowledge I would guess it would grade G6?   What are your thoughts on the grade and what would a reasonable offer be? Thanks... |

I would estimate it to be VG8 to 10 and if it is authentic it is probably a retail coin at around $115.00.
If I were saving a person a trip to a coin shop to sell it and I was willing to pay a tad more than they would, I would offer $75.00 maybe a couple bucks more and that would be very fair.
If it lays in a coin shop for sale, I think you could get it for $95.00.
That is my guess and I don't know much about buying silver dollars. I don't have a CC dollar yet myself.

I think it's in the VG range if it's genuine as NickleGuy said. Authenticity is always a concern of mine when getting any CC coin that's not slabbed. Make certain it's genuine or any offer is a bad offer.

F-12 beautiful coin - very unlikely to be fake - I would bid perhaps $80-$90 for it.

It's nice to have a place online where someone new to the hobby can find help.
It's a private transaction and the seller is asking $115. I will offer $75 and see what happens.

I'd say you did well and paid a fair price in the end.  I think I would have done the same. Someday I hope to get one but that always gets put off for something else. |
