Canadian Nickel Bullion Coin? - Coin Community Forum

Since nickel is no longer used as a material for currency (as far as I know) and Canada being known as one of the world's largest producer of nickel, should the RCM produce a .999 "Nickel Maple" bullion coin or bar? Or would that be a dumb idea? I've noticed the price of nickel is starting to rise and perhaps a one kilo pure nickel round or bar would be cool (and an inexpensive investment that those of modest means could afford). Would the premium be too high? Yes I would like to hold in my hand a big ol' chunk of Nickel! Report this Post to the Staff

Search out nickel nickels if that's your pursuit and for Jebus' sake don't melt them because they're already in a known and recognisable form. Report this Post to the Staff

Ppl are willing to invest in copper bullion then I see no problems in them investing in Nickel.
