I inherited a coin collection recently and have spent the last few weeks going through each one and making a list (approx 650 mainly between 1850 to 1950, but as far back as 1619). Biancasdad Pillar of the Community United States 1045 Posts	Posted 03/22/2012 7:39 pm Pilch! This is a coin depicting the Roman emperor Licinius II who ruled from 317-324AD. It was struck at the Cyzicus Mint between 317-320AD. Reference in Roman Imperial Coins is RIC VII 11 Obverse: D N VAL LICIN LICINIVS NOB C,Laureated and draped bust left, with a globe and sceptre in left hand, and a mappa in right hand. Reverse: IOVI CONSER_VATORI CAESS, Jupiter standing left, naked except for chlamys across left shoulder, holding Victory on globe in right hand, and left leaning on sceptre; eagle with wreath in beak at feet to left, a wreath in the left field with an "H" in the right field, SMK in exergue This type of coin is fairly common and well worn, BUT your example shows a lovely and uniform patina with very nice surfaces.
