Thank you for your interest in Coinstar. Regarding your inquiry of buying back coins, Coinstar is not in the business of selling coins as it is time consuming for Coinstar and our Service Providers. In addition, Coinstar's patented technology allows our processors to filter out foreign coins and does not accept Eisenhower silver dollars, Sacagawea coins, 1943 steel pennies and pure silver coins, which coin collectors are commonly in search of.

I guess the machines don't filter out the 90% silver coins then!

How about, "My letter from Coinstar." When in doubt, try some 90% silver or any of the other coins they filter. I only dump cents. Less time on wrapping and gets them away from my local banks.

Coinstar machines do filter out 90% silver coins as I have found them in the reject tray before, obviously some people must forget to retrieve the rejects when they are done.

I believe they only filter out silver if they are programmed to.

I was told by a dealer friend that they will take silver US coins. He said he stopped a man who was dumping silver in one and purchased what he had left. But then again it is just here say.
