Lowell is scheduled to show tomorrow for me...not a huge fan of this design by any stretch. But... oh well.

Mine came yesterday. I like the design and the history behind it. We wander up to the Lowell Music Street Festival quite often.

People are saying the new Lowell puck looks like the lady is calling bingo. The Bingo Puck :)

I received the new Lowell P puck this afternoon. Looks good, no imperfections to the naked eye. Another one down :)

Just grabbed mine from the mailbox. Other than destroying my fingers trying to get the capsule out of the flocked holder, I have no complaints. Well, other than that the design is one of my least favorites. I will say, that (bingo?) wheel has an odd 3D effect...seems to be projecting further off the face if the obverse than the rim does. Cool.
10 to go. I've said this before but this is really starting to feel like a car payment.

^ Depending on how many of each (P, bullion) you buy, this is more like a fleet! But yes, I can't wait for this series to be over.
The question is, what will happen to the series once it's over? I can imagine any interest will die down in the 2-3 years after completion, but perhaps 10-20 years later collectors will come back to it. Mintage figures are extremely low in comparison to all other US Mint silver commemorative coins. But who wants all 56?
Current stock levels of some nearing sell-out: Voyageurs is down to 87 now, Apostle Islands 30.

I thought the Apollo saucer might attract more interest in the pucks, but now I think the opposite has happened. Some people probably had to choose where to spend their coin budget and I think some of the people decided to go with the saucer and bypass the new Bingo puck for the Apollo saucer.

Quote: Depending on how many of each (P, bullion) you buy, this is more like a fleet! I have limited myself to just 1 P-puck of each issue. Even so I still feel like I could have bought a decent car 9 years into this program. Quote: The question is, what will happen to the series once it's over? Kinda depends on if they renew the program for another 11 years. They have that very expensive 3" press... clearly with the Apollo saucer they're looking for options as the ATB series is set to expire in a couple years. Guessing we'll see a 2nd round of ATB. And if we do, I really would think collector interest in these very expensive pucks will wane. Just my thoughts. But I feel like a lot of us are very much ready for this series to be done. Yet like I said, we KNOW the mint isn't going to just let that press sit.

In case anyone is looking for a good deal on the Lowell bullion, I found bullionexchanges.com to offer the best price (I order a tube of 10 btw) at the moment.

Reminds me of the flat earthers who said they have members from all around the world. Well if they were around the world, wouldn't that be saying the world is round? LOL

Quote: Well if they were around the world, wouldn't that be saying the world is round? LOL Sure but what does that have to do with being off by a power of 10? Unless you're saying flat Earthers are both ignorant AND bad at math?
