I have only one Mughal square rupee in my collection, and that is a different type to this one. I would say that this coin is almost certainly Mughal, but I need to do some checking of my references to provide a more exact attribution. Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16890 Posts	Posted 12/23/2011 12:25 am Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is a "temple token", not an actual coin. This zeno.ru example is of similar design. Genuine "Kalima-type" square rupees of Akbar look more like this, with the writing outside the square almost completely off the flan.
