I managed to pick up three notes at the Heritage FUN auction. Sorry about the image quality; I was a little careless in resizing the images and introduced some artifacts... All three notes look a lot better in hand! The first is a fractional note, Fr#1268, 15 cent 4th issue. Of the four Fr# of this type, 1268 is the scarcest with only 69 notes in total graded by PMG. There are 3 graded 64EPQ and only 3 higher (all 65EPQ). The next is a series 1928E $1 silver certificate, Fr#1605. The 1928E note is the only one of the 1928 series which has the "Legal Tender" obligation instead of "Receivable for All Public Dues" obligation. Finally is a 1935 $1 silver certificate, Fr#1607exp. This is an experimental note from the BB block which was made using "special paper".

Yes, found in circulation. I had to do a double take when I saw the low SN.

Today I received this 1929 T-2 $10 small size note from The First National Bank of Lawrence County at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. This is the town I was born in and though there were three National Banks which issued notes, all existing examples are scarce (I already own a 1902 $5 Plain Back from another of the banks). This bank was one from which I thought I'd never own an example. It did not issue large-size notes, and Track&Price shows just 3 known small-size notes for the bank. Two of those are a 1929 T-2 $50 and T-2 $100 which are also unique T-2 notes of those denominations for the state of Arkansas. The third note in the census is a T-2 $10 which has a grade of 15. This particular $10 T-2, also graded 15, is new to the T&P census so will bring the total known notes from this bank to 4. While it's toned on both sides and is well-worn, I'm very happy to own it! The signatures are cashier Jacob E. Krone (1866-1959) and president Jay Hamilton Myers (1895-1973). These men were prominent citizens of the small town of Black Rock, Arkansas, where this bank was founded by Krone and others in 1919 as the First National Bank of Black Rock. No notes were issued under that name. In 1933 the bank was moved 10 miles away to Walnut Ridge and renamed the FNB of Lawrence County at Walnut Ridge, where it still exists today. All my mother's family goes back several generations in Black Rock, so both Jacob Krone and Jay Myers were well known to them. I was 14 when Jay Myers died, so I also remember him and that makes this note even a bit more special to me.

Thanks, hfjacinto! Now I'm just missing a note from The First National Bank of Walnut Ridge, but again it will be very tough. That bank only issued large size 1902 Plain Back and Date Back notes. In the T&P census there is one 1902 $5 Date Back, two 1902 $5 Plain Back, and one 1902 $10 Plain Back.
The third bank, The Planters National Bank of Walnut Ridge, has 12 known 1902 $5 Plain Back large notes (I own one of those) and two known small size 1929 T-1 $5 notes. I would like to someday own one of the T-1 notes, but that will also be very tough...
