I'm assembling a Carson City Morgan dollar date set, all in AG-3. The key date (1889-CC) is, of course, the easiest year to find in this grade.   AG-3's are too high a grade for low-ball Morgan registry sets, those guys are looking for FR-2's and PO-1's...   Edited by DNA

Good luck finding the 1885 CC Morgan.... its more rare in AG-3 than MS and will cost about the same.

Check out this 1890-CC's reverse. It's a miracle. Denticles worn away evenly, but no tips of any letters worn off. This one, I could see being given a pass to G-4 (or at least a CAC sticker!) (which is why I bought another AG-3 1890-CC as a downgrade. )  Edited by DNA

I would say it is closer to 3 than 4. There is quite a range between the two examples posted by jeffrose. I'll call it a 3+.

When we get to the 1885-CC Morgan, a whopping 148,285 of them were Uncirculated in GSA's inventory, out of the 228,000 total mintage. 65% of the 1885-CC Morgans ever minted never entered circulation!
