Fuzzy, I am glad that you spend them individually and not just hand a roll over. I really like the idea of using a coin tube to hold them. I keep a roll in my truck and when I plan to use them I put the roll in my pocket and rip them off as I use them. I think the coin tube will work better.

The last 2 days tally is 3 dollars at Rite Aid, 2 dollars at Panera, one half dollar at Subway, 3 dollars and one half at grocery store, then 2 half dollars at farmers market. This is $10 total.

$97,539 to go.

The coin tube is convenient in that they hold 25 coins securely, so I don't have to count them again at the cash register. I can just take the top off, spend a few coins, then close it again. I am almost out of golden dollars, only 160 left. I will be going back to my bank Monday for more, or I will start with the SBA dollars.

I actually used a coin tube for a while, but I found that if you move around a lot, the coins can cause the tube to crack. Maybe if I had a tube made out of a more shock-resistant, durable material, it would have withstood abuse better.

me too.. I stopped using it because the coins made too much noise in my pocket.
I got one of these instead.

It doesn't hold as many coins, but its nifty and fits in my pocket better too. My great greanpa had one forever. I remember when I was a kid he would open it to get change and I couldnt understand for the life of me how it worked. It looked so complicated. - I couldnt have been more than 5 at the time..

Sent three more into the wild blue yonder. There's an SBA and an Abe Lincoln in the register at work, so count on another two tonight (I'll send them out tonight if it breaks me, darn it).

$97 502. Or, provisionally, $97 500.

Spent a total of 14 at a coin show today. I spent 12 on a BU 1945 Washington and two, along with a $10 bill, on a 1934-D Washington in F-15 condition (Also, I picked up an XF 1935-S and AU 1941 Washington at the same show).

$97,488 to go.

Found another SBA in the drawer tonight on top of the previously-mentioned two. Handed it out. $97 487.

I spent 4 dollar coins for a bar tab, then 2 half dollars at the grocery store, then 3 dollars and 2 half dollars for a haircut (no it wasn't that cheap). This is 9 total.
Then tonight I was at the local pizza shop and when I went to pay my bill I reached into my pocket and I had NO dollars or half dollars at all! I was tempted to say I will be back but the store was closing in 15 minutes and I would not have made it. (I hate it when that happens).

Anyway, $97,478 to go. I am assuming that SilverRoosevelt's second post is a duplicate.
