Side note:
I was going to spend more Pre$ at dinner, but my normal server was hoping I would show up with Golden Dollars (I was later than usual). She bought all I had on me, so I am not counting those.

I just can't see spending full rolls of half dollars at a store. That is like handing the cashier a $10 bill. There is no fun or education in that. I want to see the person's reaction, even if I have seen this person before, by putting the actual coins in their hand. Maybe it's just me.

I spent
2 golden dollars and 1 half dollar at marathon expo
1 half at Qdoba
1 dollar at grocery store
2 dollars and 2 halves a partial payment for a gyro (yumm)

Rarely do I spend a roll's worth of coins, and even rarer do I spend a roll or tube. The coins are usually loose.

i wish it was as easy as a $10 bill some times, but they had NO problems and no questions yesterday when I spent them. Other than the usual "Is this a 50 cent piece", to which I respond, "No a half dollar, says so on the back". I doubt I would spend something with "50 c" written on it cause that stopped with Barbers?

it jsut puzzles me when they open the roll to count and then hand some back. well I counted out $13 3 times yesterday and not a single problem.

I jsut wonder what the deal is? you take the time to be nice to roll them for them and they rip into and toss some back and give you gruff. you bring them loose and they say nothing.

Maybe I should try taking loose pennies and see what they say?

it is jsut prehiduce is all it is, nobody thinks of coins as money because it takes SOOO many to make a dollar, unless it is a dollar coin, then it really confuses then and they ask things like what is the gold worth, and I have no response to that but nearly facepalm every time.

bar had no problems with loose ones, but don't recall how many there because no reciepts so ahve to double check in a bit to see how many was spent there and report back after coffee kicks in.

Paid my Sears bill with $198 in halves.

I had my bag of coins and I stacked then in $10 stacks.

The cashier kid who had a lower than average IQ grabs a stack and then counts them into a pile and continues to do so with all 20 stacks.

Then he calls the old guy over to count it and he puts them back in $10 stacks.

Some people I tell you.

I blame the public schools and parents dumping their kids in front of a TV or video games instead of teaching them but I guess common sense isn't something that can be taught.
