It would have been so funny if you had been there and been the one they interviewed.

$10.50 (10 Ikes and a half) at the local GameStop to get a replacement 3DS charger. Clerk took the Ikes and seemed to be like "yup, these are dollars," but stopped to look at the half briefly and said "I've never seen one of these before."
Never thought I'd see the half be the weird one when put up next to an Ike as circulating coinage.
Anyway, $5751.50 to go.
Total Ikes spent so far: 7886

Of the 25 JFKs I released into the wild on my road trip most people stared at it like it was fresh from a UFO, about 10 asked what it was and 5 or more swore they had never seen one. I told one girl it was a half dollar and she thought for a minute and finally asked "How many cents is that?"

This is what they keep raising the prices on everything for, to pay these uneducated and incompetent for the job cashiers! its worth half a dollar worth of cents! go back to elementary school and learn basic math terminology! (if it was an elementary schooler, then its even worse if they aren't still teaching ALL the denominations ins school.)

Club Jaeger in Minneapolis prices everything to .00 or .50, so they only need 1 coin for change, the half dollars. Might need to go here more often to get more :)
