Looks like you found a small Cud. The coin isn't in very good condition but still a nice find.

A Cud is a specific type of die break that involves the face and shank of a die, it will always emanate from the edge of the coin. Basically, the edge of the die broke off which left a void that appears as a blob on a struck coin. Value is fairly low on a well-circulated coin with a small Cud but it is still a real error worth a few dollars.

the 3 documented Cuds for this date are all in the same position with subtle differences. yours looks like JNC-86P-3.
