I agree that it is a die chip. It is not circular enough to be the dot IMO.

This is correct. The raised area on the coin in question is not "the" dot. It's not round, it is very likely a die chip.

no one that has answered to this thread been "tough" at all in my opinion.
Most of us on this site are friendly , helpful , civil and courteous.
The only people in this thread that have attempted to be " Internet tough " is B and Minne B, You blokes work it out amongst yourselves who is who

I am curious as to why you posed the question to the forum when regardless of what opinions you are given you will not take them on board

Think for a minute: there may be a reason the coin dealer you went to spent 3 seconds looking at the coin and why there is a unanimous opinion amongst forum members

Ive just gotta say though this is in my top three most entertaining threads followed since joining CCF.

I really think it is time for this thread to end! What a bunch of nonsense these two characters are trying to spin. As a coin dealer with over 40 years of real numismatic history behind me I can tell all the reasonably thinking numismatists here one thing. This 1936 cent is NOT a real dot! The coins w ere never ever issued for circulation and the history story is probably similiar to that of the storied US 1913 Liberty nickels and other great US rarities. Mint back door jobs intent on lining the pockets of the chosen few.
When guys like Breal and Bpositive used to walk into my store, they would not listen to a word of knowledge, they already knew it all anyways! So after about the three seconds the Coin Cabinet gave these two "numismatic experts" (two seconds too long BTW), I'm sure the dealer would have wished they Bgone ! . You know what they say about an idiot and his rock...........to him who holds it, it is pure gold! Next how about a thread about my 1936 DOT ten cents ? !!!! Back to fishing boys and do not insult the trout! I am sure trout tastes much better than Atlantic cod or salmon!

The 1936 dot Canadian cent is Canada's version of the U.S. copper 1943 or steel 1944. Over the last few years there have been so many that are unconvinced that their find isn't the find of the century. After their initial threads, you never hear from them again.

It's quite obvious that no amount of discussion here is going to convince the OP this coin is not real so I'm locking this topic temporarily. bpositive, when you get this coin back from a TPG and have some pictures send a note through the contact us link and I'll unlock it.
