If I was trying to get a PO1 I would have started with a more worn example. The 5+ for me at least is more a result of the current condition of that coin. The bike rides could speed that up though

The multiple large coins will help accelerate the process...

basebal21, I think this is more of an experiment than trying specifically for PO-1. In addition, this coin is NCLT. I could have chose another voyaguer dollar in another grade, but it would have been intended for circulation which I didn't want. So... this coin is sort of a compromise between being a voyaguer dollar, and being NCLT. I could have bought one of those 2003 voyaguer dollars, but that was considerably more exspensive.

Alright its been a while, and I thought I would do an update here, what do you think the grade is? I think there are going to be many a angry numismatists after seeing the before and after, but anywho Maybe in another year it will be a Po 1.

She sure is especially compared to the women an American coins.

You should post the coin about every 4 months for the next 10 years and we'll see what happens

I think a rock tumbler with a handful of small pocket change mixed in is a good way to get this coin to where you want it without wearing holes in your pockets or destroying the surfaces. Orange juice with a lot of pulp is a great tumbling lubricant for small metal pieces- keeps everything shiny. Otherwise, hope you own a sewing machine.

Its interesting you should say that because I have a really old pair of jeans with lots of holes, grass stains, grease, paint etc... and the pockets are still good as new despite having a fistful of change constantly in my pocket. Then again, I never carry anything else on me except my wallet which has a house key in it. So I don't have to worry about the key poking a hole in my pocket.
