I just traded a guy 6 older record albums from the 70's for a 89 Prestige set. Is the half dollar silver? It didn't come with a COA so I don't know. Also, does anyone know where I can get a COA?

The half-dollar in the 1989 Prestige Set is copper-nickel; the dollar coin is 90% silver, however.

It will likely be difficult tracking down a standalone COA, but check ebay on a regular basis. Empty cases/boxes/COAs sometimes are offered when the seller has submitted the coins for grading/certification.

Thanks commens, The reason I asked about the half being silver or not is that I saw someone on e-bay selling a set and he/she claimed the half was silver as well.
They must have known better because they had the COA with it.
However he was talking about the commemorative half I should have made myself clearer that that was the coin I was referring to.

The commemorative half is also clad. Only the 1982 Washington and the 1993 bill of rights halves were produced in 90% silver. All other modern commemorative halves are clad copper nickle.

@mwr1550: You were clear, I understood your question was about the half-dollar. My response indicated it was copper-nickel (i.e., clad), I added the info on the silver dollar just in case you were wondering about it as well.
