Don't know how I missed this thread! I could have contributed to it... Most of my Aussie coins came from junk trays - a few were even found in circulation in England masquerading as British coins! Catching up... 1957 shilling: 1958 florin:

Its okay, it got refreshed and dug up after 3 years by someone else and I decided it never finished, so to revive for it for the last few years!

I actually have no 1959 coins, hence why I did nothing for that year

We have fallen a whole day behind and should be in 1960 now! Here is my 1960. An average Sixpence, but this coin still saw 6 years of use until decimal day, so thats why you can even find 1963 coins worn down to Fine in extreme cases. This sixpence would be a full VF or slightly better. The other end of the spectrum The Choice UNC 1960 Florin - Another creamy coin and not too expensive, the cost of decent 1960s Aussie silver is really low unless you want real PROOFS of course I will be posting shiny Aussie florins to the end. To play catch up - 1960 will last until midnight NZ time which is 7am 3/11/2020 Board Time!

Great work Steve, its cool to see you pretty much have a complete set for each year! Its 1961 now and here is what I have Another "Bonza" florin And a fairly good fair dinkum Threepence I will admit, my Aussie Predecimal collection does not stretch much beyond Florins at this stage, but this will change. And you guys - do you think we should after reaching 1964. 1. Do nothing 2. Go back to 1910 and start again as the original posts are over 8 years ago 3. Spice it up and move into the decimal era, starting 1966 as far as I know, no Australian coins dated 1965 came out

Princetane - you should hold a poll! 1961 Australian shilling - a friend of my family got this in change as a 5p in England in the 1980s and gave it to me! I imagine whoever put it into circulation thought they were just getting rid of a useless foreign coin, not realising it was 50% silver! Of course, the obverse design is virtually identical to Elizabeth II English and Scottish shillings, which were made of cupro-nickel and were still in use until the new small 5p came out in 1990.
