Can anyone tell me if this note is considered "educational", and some rough guesstimate of it's value?

Thank you for any help..

Yep - it's the $5 note from the 1896 Educational note series. Hard to tell the condition from those pictures, but It's probably worth at least a few hundred dollars. If it was in clean, prime uncirculated condition a couple thousand bucks.

Yes, it is from the Educational series. A quick ebay look shows you could get several hundred for it.

http://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/$5notes.htm Hard to tell what condition your note is in. Do a little research on grading before you try to sell it.

Going by your pics it looks to be a good/very good but I am sure you can grade it better because you have the note in-hand.

Well, it can be graded as "Fine" if it doesn't have Pin Holes or tears ...

In such a condition, it would worth around $1500

Cheers
