I had the same phone call yesterday for about $15 FV in "big dollars and 50c pieces". Unfortunately they were nickel, I'm hoping for much better luck for you!

Yeah, I have the same problem they tell me they have these 'silver' dollars and fifty cent pieces, they always end up nickel.

Epic fail :(

122 dollars, 1968-1985
$49.50 face in 50 cents same years.
One full mint box 1992 50's (in rolls)

Oh well, looks like a game of hold'em with the kids tonight using "silver dollars" before it goes bank to the bank tomorrow!

Lots of variety searching to do! PM me if you want to unload a roll or two of the 1992 50s.

I do not know how it is in Canada, but in the US many banks do not
look kindly upon singling out tellers with rewards.
The solution is to do something nice for the entire branch, like a tray of baked cookies or brownies
for the entire staff to enjoy on their breaks.
This gesture is a good way to get everyone on your side.

It never hurts to make friends with bank employees.

Not feeling much love here for the nickel dollar...

Well Wade, unlike what the headliner of this thread states, at least tonight you'll have a good sleep!

I'd rather be up all night with buckets of silver.

I would rather have you give them to someone young at face value rather than returning them to the bank.
Grades of the Coins?
You should keep the mint box of uncirculated 50 cents.

Hmm, I have a weakness for nickel dollars (I think SPP-Ottawa would understand!), I'd be all over those dollars, and my loupe would be busy indeed! Hell, I have daydreams about one of my favorite tellers telling me they just got in a few hundred nickel dollars. Each to their own, but really, nickel dollars are a seriously neglected field in Canadian numismatics...
