Quote:I used to get an ASE or 2 every other week, but lately the premium is more than I like so I picked up a few of the competitors. I'm not going to stop buying my ASE's because of cost but, you're my type of collector. I have the series of Lib's 82-current (with a few holes from the '80's to fill ,and Britannia's 99-current..any other series ofcourse. Both are fabulous coins! Congrats!

As the article says, the ten point system is for newer coins from 1982 onward. They are still keeping the 70 point system for older than 1982. I don't know how/why they picked that year.
The ten point system is used for trading cards, comic books etc. It seems to be an attempt to draw younger collectors to coins, they may be more familiar with the ten point system. We'll see if it takes off or fizzles. I have a few comic books signed by Stan Lee that are condition graded 9.7, 9.8, 9.9.

I ordered a roll of ASE's and 5 rolls of Roosevelt's this week. Premiums are what they are and with inflation cash isn't what it used to be. My focus lately is 90% but am slowly inching my ASE's up to fill out another "monster" box worth roll by roll. Or should that be tube by tube? My goal for 2023 is 20 ASE's (one tube) and $50 face 90% per month we will see how it goes

Today's quick pics were: 1846 & 1849 US Large Cents and a 2022 Australian Kookaburra (hole filler). I just stopped in to say hello and that's what happened. I'm such a sucker for coins!

Beautiful coin, and congrats! I got my first gold coin as an inheritance from my grandfather who passed away last month. It's a 1994 1/10 ounce gold eagle. The design looks stunning, even on a coin of such small size.

These two beauties were found for free at the Coinstar. The dime in the reject slot and the quarter underneath the machine.
