Sterling Vs. Fine Silver NCLT Coins

Will be very happy to hear the different people opinion about: Mine collection started from the "Bullion all over the world", and although I still continue to collect the bullion coins and series (Australian Koala for example), I shifted and significantly expanded in the area of NCLT coins with the numismatic value, from the RCM mostly (also RAM and Perth Mint). But I have put some limitation, that came from the Bullion world - only coins from .999 silver. Recently, made the exception for "1911-2011 Dollar", "2010 Year of the Tiger Scalloped coin", "2011 Year of the Rabbit scalloped coin". So the advice that I am looking for: Are the Fine Silver NCLT count as "Superior" over the Sterling NCLT? Is there some reason, that better to avoid the sterling? Even the last years, I saw some NCLT, that I wanted for their design, but didn't buy due to the metal composition (sterling silver). Report this Post to the Staff

CC-Ottawa Pillar of the Community Canada 3690 Posts	Posted 01/02/2013 3:34 pm Without a doubt, the greatest advantage of Fine/Pure silver over Sterling is that they are tax exempt when buying from the RCM, dealers or even large resellers. Other than the tax, the extra 7.5% of silver doesn't make any different for a numis coin IMO. Report this Post to the Staff
