Yay! A Philadelphia token! Specifically a souvenir struck during the Centennial Exposition held here in 1876. Many grand buildings still standing in Fairmount Park were built for this great celebration of our nation's first century. Your token also seems to feature something you don't see very often: the side view of Independence Hall! I'll drop by 5th and Chestnut St on the way to work tomorrow, though, just to be sure!
Neat medal. I do not think it was an "official" strike. Likely, since it was "struck within the International Exhibition" it was a souvenir that each person would have been able to make on their own.I am sure no mintage numbers were kept Here is some good info on the expo and its official medals....
