Here are two coins with possible struck in metal errors. The first is a 1953d with what looks like damage to the head area. The damage has no pushed around metal and flat edges. The reverse shows no deformation which would signal intentional blows to the obverse. Non retained stuck in metal fragments is a possiblility. What do you think? The second coin is a 1941 wheatie with a large indent on Lincoln's shoulder. No pushed around metal and has flat edges. Reverse also shows no deformation. Comments?
Looking at the irregular shapes of yours and mine I'm thinking metal fragments from the presses themselves. Make sense? No pun but these presses must take a pounding.
