Argentum-- nope :)

Keep trying though, I bet you can figure it out without extra clues!

Upstate-- nope, see several posts up where I posted some information.

Maybe you did 1913 x 2013 = $3,850,865
And it's 100 years between 1913 and 2013 so you added 1,000,000 to that for a total of $4,850,865? And then rounded down a bit for some reason? Lol.

Does your number have any connection with the number from the show "Lost"? Haha I hope you say no, because I'm already so lost trying to figure this out

j-win... I was lost with Lost too, and soon lost interest in Lost.

Nope, nothing to do with that show.

I'm pretty sure that when someone comes up with the rationale, he/she will know it is the answer before I confirm.

Argentum, yes I'll do that. And thanks for letting me know, I was unaware that I couldn't receive PMs. I thought I had set it up to do that

And to allay any concerns of others, I certainly won't give anyone private hints

I'm considering posting hints daily or at some other interval. It's difficult to come up with hints that are just right-- not too obvious. I don't want this to end too soon.

I think in a while I'll update the initial post and edit that area daily with a list of hints/information which have accumulated in the course of answering questions. If so, I'll post in-line in the thread giving a heads-up as well as editing the initial post.

Upstate-- nope, and for the record I'm not quite that old, not that 56 is old, of course The information/knowledge needed to solve this riddle is publicly available.
