VF details Cleaned. That grade may be too low. I'm not too sure as I dontvreally collect barbers.

Thanks. I've only been collecting for about a year now so I'm somewhat new to this. How do you tell this one has been cleaned?

Not a bad deal for $23, really. I'd probably have paid at least $20.

For $23 you cannot complain. Given that it is from New Orleans an XF might apply but I'd call it VF30 or VF-35. [I'm conservative, and New Orleans' coins are poorly struck.] Yes, the surfaces are questionable. But, if you plan to get a few more halves you have a great benchmark to use. The 'LIBERTY' is especially nice.

i would also say it is an older cleaning on this coin in all honesty !
