Is it possible for an unplated cent to be this shiny? It is not pitted like all of the other chemically treated cents I have found in the past. It weighs in at 2.4 grams. What do you all think, is it legit? All help and opinions are appreciated, thank you.

Looks genuine to me, especially seeing it on the scale. But you'll have to wait for the experts on this.

I don't think it came from the mint that way IMO.

It looks worked over. I can see a hint of color. The fields are full of abrasion marks. To shiny to be a zinc finish.

Notice that the normal 1990 in your photo shows cartwheel luster while the coin in question is uniformly shiny. That leads me to believe that your coin has been plated post-mint with a white metal.
